Dear Colleagues,

As the chair of Local Organizing Committee it is a great pleasure to inform you that abstract submission is open for the 17th SEH European Congress of Herpetology, to be held in Veszprém (Hungary), 22-27 August 2013.

Presentations are invited on the following topics, related to amphibians and reptiles:

  • Ecology
  • Monitoring
  • Practical conservation
  • Climate change
  • Behaviour
  • Diseases and parasites
  • Phylogeny
  •  Phylogeography
  •  Systematics
  •  Population genetics
  •  Tropical herp biodiversity
  •  Anatomy
  •  Physiology
  •  Development
  •  Paleontology
  •  Others

Submission of abstracts for oral presentations or posters should be made no later than 15 April 2013. Authors should indicate their preference for presentation type (oral or poster) and indicate to which topic (listed above) it would be most suited. One person can submit one oral and/or one poster presentation as presenting author. Abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee.

Abstracts must not exceed 2000 characters in length including references, excluding title, authors and affiliations.

Abstracts must contain a clear statement of the purpose of the work, the methods used, the results, and conclusions. Results should be presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusions drawn. Reviewers will be advised to reject abstracts that do not contain data, since it is very difficult to evaluate the suitability of these abstracts for presentation. The decision on acceptance/rejection by the scientific committee is final.

Reviewers will decide whether abstracts are accepted (with amendments, if necessary) and, if accepted, whether they should be oral ppresentations or posters. They will also assign oral presentations to the most appropriate sessions for the symposium.

Authors will be informed of the outcome of their submissions by 30 April 2013 the latest. All accepted abstracts will be published in the abstract book.

Important dates:
15 April 2013 Deadline for abstracts submission
30 April 2013 Notification of abstracts
31 May 2013 Deadline for early bird registration fee

Kind regards,
Judit Vörös
