Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the website of the SEH 17th European Congress of Herpetology.
As the Chair of the Local Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the SEH 17th European Congress of Herpetology, which is going to be held between 22-27 August 2013 in Veszprém, Hungary.
Every second year SEH European Congress of Herpetology provides an opportunity for scientists, nature conservation specialists and policy makers to meet and discuss current results in the field of herpetology.
The conference generally will focus on bridging the gap between science and practice, but thematic sessions will include subjects like climate change and its effect on amphibians and reptiles, habitat restoration, species protection, conservation genetics, phylogeography, alien species and amphibian and reptile diseases.
Hungary is located between Eastern and Western Europe, offering a bridge between different cultures. Host town of the venue, Veszprém is located in the Western part of the country, between the fascinating Balaton region and the Bakony Mountains, but not far from our beautiful capital: Budapest.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Veszprém in August 2013 on a stimulating and enjoyable event!
Judit Vörös
Chair of the Local Organizing Committee
